An appointment takes between 30-45 minutes including numbing time! You may have some discomfort during the procedure, however; you will be able to continue your normal activities after. We recommend scheduling your Kybella treatments at least 2 weeks before any event since the area will swell for about 14 days after each treatment. The swelling is a normal and expected part of the injection and is due to the deoxycholic acid dissolving the fat cells. If you have a lot of fat under the chin you may experience more swelling, and in some cases may choose to wear a blouse, silk scarf, or turtleneck sweater for a few days after the injections. The procedure generally takes 2- 4 treatments, which should be spaced 4- 6 weeks apart.
